Victorian Businesses receive high recognition at the 2013 WorkSafe Awards

Victoria-based businesses have received high recognition for their achievements in the fields of health and safety, return to work and health and well-being across all industries at the Victorian WorkCover Authority 25th Annual WorkSafe Awards announced on Thursday.

Assistant Treasurer Gordon Rich-Phillips congratulated the 10 winners form 323 entries for their dedication and contribution in setting and promoting high standards in the fields of health and safety in the workplace.

“Whether it is coming up with solutions to safety hazards, implementing a well-being program or helping an injured worker get back to work, the contributions and commitment of our finalists and winners contribute to safer workplaces,” Mr. Rich-Phillips said, quoted in a media release. 

“I congratulate the award recipients and commend them on their dedication, their innovations and their hard work in workplace safety.”

“The WorkSafe Awards showcase innovative approaches to health and safety, return to work and health and well-being and also represent an opportunity for businesses to follow the example of leaders in this field.”

Work Cover Chief executive Denise Cosgrove also congratulated the winners and called for all Victorian business to follow the example and make the safety on their workplaces a priority.

The awarding ceremony was attended by employers, employees and safety industry stakeholders from various industry fields.
