Siemens has put the call out for manufacturing students to get up to speed with digital manufacturing, with the company offering a free download of their plant simulation software.
The software, which is used to create and design efficient factories and material handling, is an object-oriented modelling tool, used worldwide by manufacturing companies. Allowing organisations to run experiments and analyse case studies without disturbing existing production systems.
‘Students at high schools, colleges or universities can download Plant Simulation for free, private use to support their studies. With this license, students can create models with up to 80 objects. Please note this application is only available for the Windows® operating system at this time.’ Siemens.
The software is non-transferable and cannot be used for industrial projects, paid services or any other commercial purposes.
Siemens PLM Software also offers academic licenses with more capabilities to schools at a discounted price. For more information, visit http://www.plm.automation.siemens.com
