New Zealand’s leading lighting solutions group, GLG (formerly Gerard Lighting), has launched a new state-of-the-art engineering and laboratory facility built for delivering custom product design and full compliance testing.

Located  in Padstow NSW, the 640m2 Innovation Centre was designed to facilitate product customisation and showcase the capabilities of GLG’s extensive Pierlite and portfolio to customers.

Mark Snyman, Innovation Centre Manager, GLG, said the plan for the Centre is to showcase the company’s commitment to excellence and high standards for quality, performance and compliance. Sylvania

He said GLG will also use the facility to educate the market on the importance of selecting quality brands that can deliver solutions.

“The facility has been developed using the latest testing equipment, with a team of experienced engineers responsible for the overall operation of the Innovation Centre,” Mr Snyman continued.

“The centre allows us to build on 23 years of compliance testing to delivering innovative new products and solutions that our customers can be confident meet or exceed Australian Standards.”

Jackie Williams, General Manager Customer Solutions, GLG, said GLG is one of a handful of Aussie lighting manufacturers that boast an in-house testing facility designed to ensure complete quality control, agile product development and technical aftersales support capabilities.

“With the high rate of product development in LED technology, and a shrinking product life cycle, it is vital to have engineering and testing capability,” Ms Williams continued.

“This will ensure GLG are faster to market and leading the technology curve.”
