Wayland Additive is returning to this year's Formnext exhibition in Frankfurt from 7 to 10 November to present its fully commercialised Calibur3 metal additive manufacturing (AM) system. 

The European Patent Office (EPO) has unveiled a surge in patent applications within the 3D printing technology sector, revealing that 3D printing has grown a staggering eight times faster than the average across all technological fields over the past decade.

Additive Manufacturing Research, previously SmarTech Analysis, has reported that the global additive manufacturing (AM) market experienced modest sequential growth of less than one per cent in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter, with the total market estimated at $3.52 billion.

The Caixin China General Manufacturing PMI has increased from 49.2 in July to 51.0 in August, beyond the neutral 50.0 level, indicating a further improvement in the sector's health, which had improved in three of the previous four months. 

The crew of the USS Bataan (LHD 5) has recently completed the first metal 3D part fabrication and replacement for a de-ballast air compressor (DBAC) in only five days utilising a permanently installed metal 3D printer, with the help of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).
