ForestWorks ISC and First Super will present the 6th Industry Development Conference which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014 at the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra.
According to the media release by ForestWorks, this year’s annual flagship event for the forest, wood, paper and timber products industry will be focusing on how the ability to change business practices to generate greater value is currently being implemented in sectors across the industry.
ForestWorks ISC CEO Michael Hartman stressed the importance of translating innovation into productivity which would bring multiple benefits to the country’s industry sectors.
“The operating environment for our industry has been and is rapidly changing and the only way for enterprises to manage this change is through innovation,” Mr Hartman said.
“Although everyone seems to acknowledge the fact that innovation is key, actually using innovation techniques requires learning and development. That is why we have decided to dedicate the entire conference this year to taking the latest change management and innovation practice and showing how it is being applied today in our industry. “
Mr Hartman said that many people mistakenly believe that innovation requires great investments and acquiring expensive technology or new-fangled concepts.
“Fostering innovation is often simply a case of learning how to collaborate more effectively and knowing how to harness the results through effective change management,” Mr Hartman said.
“The conference will feature panels of innovation experts and the real world experience of those who have driven innovation into productivity gains.”
Registrations for attending the conference close on February 21st. This high-powered, day-long examination of the essential elements and best successes in innovation is scheduled to take place as two half-day forums, each chaired by distinguished Australian industry leaders.
