Australian manufacturers offered free ‘bite-size’ conference in Digital Lunchtime Series instead of cancelled conference.

Key themes for Free Digital Lunchtime Series
• Manufacturing – The new engine of growth
• Cyber Security – a Catch 22?
• The Secret Sauce of Industry 4.0 – Smart Factory

The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association APPMA is providing a FREE Digital Lunchtime Series instead of their planned conference in Sydney due to the pandemic and extended lockdowns in both New South Wales and Victoria.

The APPMA’s General Manager, Michael Moran said that it just wasn’t an option to cancel, as the manufacturing industry is going to be the engine room of recovery from this pandemic for Australia.

“When we were planning this conference we agreed on a theme of Investing in Resilience, little did we know how the rest of 2021 was going to unfold for our members and that it is more important than ever to keep focused on the recovery role manufacturing will play for the Australian economy.

“We decided to reframe our Business and Industry Conference into a FREE Lunchtime Series during September,” he said.

“We were planning on offering a hybrid conference, so the move to 100% online was not a dramatic change.

“We didn’t want to just cancel, as it is critical to keep the industry informed and collaborative as we manage the recovery from the pandemic.”

The keynote and panel sessions feature a mix of high-profile industry experts and international thought leaders covering a range of topics essential for the ongoing development, growth and protection of the manufacturing sector in Australia.
