BlueScope appoints new non-executive director as part of its board renewal process

BlueScope has announced that it has appointed Ms Rebecca Dee-Bradbury as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately.

According to the ASX release issued by BlueScope, Ms Dee-Bradbury has an extensive experience in strategic marketing, having held senior regional executive and CEO positions with businesses operating across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. She also has vast experience in consumer and retail marketing brand management and product innovation, gained with international organizations such as Maxxum, Kraft/Cadbury and Lion Nathan/Pepsi Cola Bottlers.

“We are very pleased to welcome Rebecca to the Board. Her experience in marketing, innovation and technology complements the existing skill set of our Board,” BlueScope Steel Chairman Graham Kraehe said upon welcoming Ms Dee-Bradbury on her new post.

“I am looking forward to joining the Board and making a positive contribution to BlueScope’s future success at an exciting time for the Company,” said Ms Dee-Bradbury.

Ms Dee-Bradbury will nominate for election by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled in November 2014 along with Mr John Bevan, who joined the Board in March.

Both appointments are in line with BlueScope ongoing Board renewals and succession planning process.

BlueScope is a global steel producer with operations in Australia, Asia, New Zealand, North America and Pacific Islands. The company was demerged from BHP Billiton in 2002 and renamed BlueScope Steel the following year. BlueScope is headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria and employs 16,000 workers across its plants in New South Wales, Melbourne and New Zealand.
