Ever had that awkward moment when you give your relative/ business acquaintance/ hosts overseas an Australian souvenir, only to find out it has a “Made in China” stamp or sticker? You will be glad to know that Federal Minister of Tourism, Martin Ferguson opened the new and largest Australian Made Concept Store in Melbourne Airport two days ago.
The store only stocks products registered to carry the green and gold certification trademark, the Australian Made, Australian Grown (AMAG) logo. Shoppers can choose from a wide range of Australian made products, from knitwear, lifestyle apparels to handmade crafts and timber carving.
The Australian Made Concept Store is located airside in the international terminal of Melbourne Airport. It joins Sydney International Airport and Perth Airport, with more to roll out in the near future.
