DroneShield has announced a series of leadership changes within its technology division, appointing Angus Harris as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and transitioning long-serving executive Angus Bean to Chief Product Officer (CPO).

In a news release, the company said the appointments reflect its continued organisational growth and maturity as it scales to meet rising global demand across defence and government markets.
Harris, who previously led DroneShield’s software engineering team, will now oversee the company’s engineering division and technical execution across all product lines.
He brings extensive experience from roles at Thales and the Australian Department of Defence, as well as a background in delivering large-scale engineering and technology programs across defence, transport, and AI sectors.
According to DroneShield, Harris has led projects ranging from national communications and control system deployments, including the Sydney Metro, to enterprise-scale computer vision solutions for major retailers and innovations in software and sensor integration for defence and government applications.
DroneShield Chief Executive Officer Oleg Vornik said Harris’ promotion recognises his leadership and technical expertise.
“Angus Harris has already been performing in a senior technology leadership capacity as VP of Software Engineering, demonstrating technical capability, operational discipline, and collaboration across the business,” Vornik said.
“His appointment as CTO adds to the senior talent bench and positions the company to deliver the next generation of counter-drone solutions, especially as the Company is seeking for SaaS to grow substantially as a proportion of its revenues.”
Meanwhile, Bean will move into the newly defined role of Chief Product Officer, where he will focus on advancing DroneShield’s global product vision and long-term technology roadmap.
Having overseen the development of the company’s core technologies since its early stages, DroneShield said Bean will continue to play a key role in aligning innovation and customer outcomes.
The company stated that both executives bring complementary expertise that will strengthen its engineering and product functions.
DroneShield also said the leadership evolution deepens its capabilities across large-scale software, hardware, and AI-driven counter-drone and electronic warfare systems.
