Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited (EOS) has announced it has secured a contract valued at A$108 million for the supply of Remote Weapon Systems (RWS) for the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) LAND 400-3 project.
According to EOS, the company’s customer under the agreement is Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA), which serves as the prime contractor to the ADF on the project.
The contract covers the delivery of RWS units along with spare parts, training, documentation and other related items, the company said in a news release.
EOS stated that the contract will be primarily delivered across 2025, 2026 and 2027.
Under the agreement, the company will supply an enhanced version of its R400 RWS, which has been “designed, configured and tested to suit specific ADF requirements” and will be fully integrated with Hanwha’s Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).
The company confirmed that the systems will be manufactured in Canberra, drawing upon an Australian supply chain comprising more than 100 manufacturers.
The ADF’s LAND 400-3 project aims to procure 129 IFVs for the Australian Army.
EOS said the announcement had been authorised for release to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) by its Board of Directors.
