Health Support Services (HSS) has issued a call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) from Western Australian manufacturers as part of a wider effort to strengthen the local supply of medical products to the WA health system.
The procurement and supply agency, which provides services across the state’s public health network, is seeking businesses capable of designing, manufacturing, and supplying high-usage, low-complexity products.
The initiative aligns with the WA Government’s strategic goal of boosting local procurement and supporting domestic manufacturing capability.
According to HSS, the EoI presents an opportunity for local businesses to play a role in improving supply chain resilience and increasing the participation of WA-based manufacturers in supplying health-related products.
The focus on low-complexity items is intended to offer a clear entry point for local industry to engage with public health procurement.
“This is your opportunity to help shape the future of local WA procurement of medical goods, strengthen local WA manufacturing and reduce risk in supply chains,” the Health Support Services said in a statement.
An in-person briefing session will be held on Monday, 16 June 2025, at the HSS office in Perth to provide more information to prospective respondents.
The deadline for EoI submissions is 5:00pm (WST) on 11 July 2025. Full details are available via the Tenders WA website.
