Australian Financial Review (AFR) has named lighting technology company VAILO as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Most Innovative Companies in the Manufacturing & Consumer Goods category.

The accolade comes in recognition of VAILO’s innovative work in developing the Zenith Gen-V LED sports light, which was designed and manufactured in Australia.

The 1,500-watt Zenith Gen-V LED luminaire is equipped with more than 230,000 source lumens and is designed for sports stadiums and fields, but can also be used in airports, seaports, and mining operations.

VAILO was ranked 6th in the AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies, emerging from more than 700 nominated companies across Australia and New Zealand.

The list, which is now in its 12th year, looks into the innovation prowess of organisations in Australia and New Zealand.

The recognition comes a year after the company continued to expand its presence into the eastern states from its base in South Australia.

Aaron Hickmann, founder and CEO of VAILO, said the company’s inclusion in the list is a testament to the hard work and ingenuity of the VAILO team.

“VAILO has created a culture and our own unique innovation processes where the team are supported to push themselves every day, be brave and back their ideas,” said Hickmann.

“This accolade follows the AFR BOSS Best Places to Work awards in April where we placed 4th in the Manufacturing & Consumer Goods list, which I believe shows a direct correlation between a happy and innovative team,” the CEO added.

VAILO is an Australian advanced technology company founded in 2012 that specialises in manufacturing ultra-high-performance LED sports lighting and is a premier solutions provider of LED digital displays tailored to sporting venues and major outdoor events.
