While preparing mineral resource estimates in the region, Bryah Resources LTD (ASX:BRY) discovered a manganese-rich intersect at the Horseshoe South Manganese Mine.

According to Bryah, the discovery made during the reverse circulation (RC) drilling operations carried out in October and November 2020 confirms that the mineral-rich zone contains high-grade manganese.

An intersection was made with a potential channel deposit defined by lower iron and phosphorus grades compared to stratigraphic manganese mineralization in the region.

The final set of results from the drilling program will be used to improve geological modeling of the historic mining site.

The Horseshoe South Manganese Mine is located 150km north of the Meekatharra in central Western Australia. As a historic mining spot, the Horseshoe Range area has been a manganese producing region since 1948.

RC drilling at the Horseshoe South Manganese Mine falls under the Bryah Basin Joint Venture — owned 70% by Bryah and 30% by OMM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OM Holdings Limited (ASX:OMH).

Bryah executed the Manganese Farm-in and Joint Venture Agreement with OMM in 2019, with the latter fully-funding all drilling projects.

Under the agreement, Bryah will continue to hold the position of project manager until OMM acquires at least 51% of the JV.

The Perth-based mineral exploration company also announced that a diamond drilling program, which began in December 2020, will recommence this month to recover samples from its Brumby Creek prospect.
