Swisslog has expanded its automation portfolio with the launch of its IntraMove series of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), designed for horizontal pallet transport of up to 3,000 kilograms.
The company said the new range offers flexibility for businesses operating in fast-changing environments, with the robots able to adapt to evolving transport requirements while maintaining efficient operations.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for horizontal transport solutions capable of handling heavier loads and adapting to dynamic and frequently changing conditions,” said Dan Ulmamei, managing director of Swisslog Australia and New Zealand.
“Our new AMRs are ideal for point-to-point pallet transport in sectors such as food and beverage, fashion and general merchandise, as well as inter-industrial applications. The advantages they offer are quick deployment and flexible operation, ease of changing routes and delivery points, and adaptability to support business growth.”
According to Swisslog, the IntraMove robots connect to an AI-based fleet management system via the VDA 5050 standard communication interface, allowing for optimised route planning and efficient assignment of transport tasks.
The system integrates with warehouse management and control software, including Swisslog’s SynQ, and can coordinate with external equipment such as doors and elevators using common industrial protocols.
The AMRs use Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) navigation supported by dual laser scanners and AI algorithms to chart efficient paths while avoiding obstacles, without the need for fixed guiding infrastructure such as cables or strips.
According to the company, each unit includes a lifting mechanism designed to handle goods smoothly and safely, preventing jolts or damage during transport.
Swisslog said the IntraMove series is available in different payload versions to meet a variety of industrial requirements.
These include the compact IntraMove AMR 600 for payloads of 600 kg, the IntraMove AMR 1500 for pallet transport up to 1,500 kg, and the heavy-duty IntraMove AMR 3000 capable of carrying up to 3,000 kg.
The new robots are designed to integrate into complete automation solutions or operate as standalone systems, supporting order preparation and efficient material flow.
Swisslog said the technology complements its wider portfolio of warehouse automation systems aimed at improving space utilisation, throughput, and operational efficiency.
