AML3D Limited has appointed Arc Additive Limited as its distribution partner for the UK and Europe in a move aimed at accelerating its entry into key manufacturing and defence markets across the region.

The non-exclusive partnership, which will run for two years, forms part of AML3D’s broader growth strategy to expand its presence beyond Australia and the United States, as revealed in an ASX announcement.

The Scottish-based Arc Additive specialises in large-scale wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) and metal 3D printing solutions, with expertise and networks that align with AML3D’s target markets in Europe.

AML3D said the partnership would play a key role in leveraging its existing Australian manufacturing capabilities while supporting planned capacity in Europe, particularly to serve AUKUS defence partners, including the UK and Australia.

“We are seeing the same demand signals in Europe that are driving our phenomenal growth in the US across Defence but also Utilities and Energy,” AML3D CEO Sean Ebert said.

“We are very much looking to roll out our US playbook in Europe. That includes leveraging third party distributors in Europe like Arc. It includes establishing a Technology centre in Europe like we did at Stow Ohio. It includes supporting the AUKUS defence partners like we are with our contract with BAE Systems in the UK.”

The appointment of Arc follows AML3D’s announcement of a planned AU$5 million investment to establish a European technology base, supported by a capital raise in late 2024.

The company has already signed a material feasibility contract with BAE Systems UK, which Ebert said underscores the potential for growth in the region.

“While much of the excitement around AML3D’s growth has rightly been focused on the US market, we have continued to work on the significant growth opportunities represented by the UK, Australian and European markets,” Ebert added.

“This distributor partnership with Arc is a great example of this work. Building our distribution capabilities across the UK and mainland Europe will help us to convert the strong demand in these markets to contract wins. My expectation is the alloy testing contract we have already signed with BAE Systems in the UK is just the beginning.”

Jamie Mincher, Managing Director of Arc Additive, welcomed the partnership and highlighted the potential for collaboration.

“I’ve long believed that the future of manufacturing lies in strong partnerships and bold technology. AML3D’s ARCEMY® platform is a brilliant example of industrial-scale innovation, and it’s been a pleasure working with their team. We’re proud to support their entry into the UK market and look forward to seeing this collaboration unlock new capabilities for industry across the region,” Mincher said.
