The Australian Government has announced that innovative businesses across the country will share in $28.7 million through the Industry Growth Program, aimed at strengthening local manufacturing and supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The program provides tailored advisory services and matched funding grants to help SMEs and startups bring their ideas to market, particularly during their most challenging development phases.
According to the government, projects must align with priority areas of the National Reconstruction Fund to ensure they contribute to building Australia’s future manufacturing capability.
Among the latest projects to receive funding, SDIP Innovations is working on an implant system that manufactures bone fillers for orthopaedic surgeries, while Iondrive Technologies is advancing a greener battery recycling process that recovers minerals from lithium-ion batteries.
Caulmar, trading as Hart Marine, is also developing a hydrofoil boat designed, built and launched in Australia for pilot transport.
The government said these projects reflect the program’s goal of fostering technologies that align with priority areas under the National Reconstruction Fund and create opportunities for advanced manufacturing.
Applications to the Industry Growth Program Advisory Service remain open on an ongoing basis for eligible businesses.
This week, the service marked a milestone, delivering its 1,000th report to support companies pursuing innovation and manufacturing opportunities.
