GME has announced the release of the next generation of its XRS Connect UHF CB radio platform, introducing two new models designed to expand the company’s existing range of two-way communication devices.

In a media release, GME said the updated XRS Connect range builds on its first-generation platform and introduces several new features aimed at improving connectivity, usability and durability for users.

The Australian-made radios are designed to be “smart, adaptable, and rugged,” according to the company.

“The all-new XRS range once again raises the benchmark for UHF CB radios, with numerous advancements in technology ensuring GME remains at the cutting-edge of two-way radio communication,” the company said in the release.

The new range includes the XRS-335C Super Compact UHF CB radio and the XRS-375C Heavy Duty Compact UHF CB radio. Both models feature a 5-watt design, a professional-grade IP67-rated speaker microphone and a 3-watt speaker microphone, as well as an anti-glare colour TFT LCD screen.

The radios also include Bluetooth connectivity for audio and data, a built-in GPS receiver for location-based functionality, noise reduction technology and user-customisable buttons.

GME said the products also support user-updateable firmware and integrate with the company’s XRS Connect smartphone application. Through the app, users can access features such as voice playback, active mute, Crewtalk communication and location services.

According to the company, the development of the new radios was informed by ongoing research and development efforts as well as feedback from customers and field testing.

“GME’s relentless focus on research and development, combined with extensive consumer feedback and in-field testing, has resulted in a range of products that set a new standard for two-way radios globally,” the company said.

GME noted the XRS-375C model is designed for heavier-duty environments and includes additional durability features such as compliance with MIL-STD-810H standards covering vibration, shock, temperature and humidity, as well as compatibility with both 12-volt and 24-volt power inputs.

Both models are manufactured in Australia and come with a five-year warranty, according to the company.

GME said additional information about the new XRS Connect range is available through its website.
