Legrand Australia is reaffirming its commitment to local manufacturing during Australian Made Week, held from 19 to 25 May 2025.

The company, part of a global network specialising in electrical and digital building infrastructure, said it continues to invest in its Australian operations as part of a long-term strategy to meet local market needs.

Headquartered in Prestons, Sydney, Legrand operates multiple facilities across the country and manufactures and distributes thousands of solutions for commercial, residential, and industrial applications.

The company also has a dedicated local research and development (R&D) team that focuses on designing products specifically for the Australian market.

According to Legrand, this local approach enables rapid responsiveness, supply chain resilience, and high levels of quality control.

The company employs over 800 people across Australia and New Zealand, with operations including seven manufacturing facilities, one R&D centre, and 15 warehouses.

Legrand said its investment in Australian manufacturing is aimed at ensuring flexibility and reliability for customers seeking regionally produced solutions.

One of its highlighted offerings is a 100 per cent Australian Made-certified range of exit and emergency light fittings.

Among these is the Galaxy Emergency Lighting range – a computer-monitored digital system that is part of Legrand’s premium product suite.

“Australian Made Week is an opportunity to shine a light on the businesses that are keeping our manufacturing industry strong,” said Australian Made Chief Executive Ben Lazzaro.

“Legrand Australia is a prime example of a company that continues to invest in local capability, specialising in the production of locally-made electrical and digital infrastructure. Supporting businesses like Legrand means backing Australian jobs, skills, and innovation.”

Legrand says it aims to enhance everyday living and working environments through innovative and sustainable infrastructure that responds to evolving technological and societal trends.
