Perth is set to become the focal point for discussions on robotics, artificial intelligence, and cyber technologies when it hosts the inaugural Indo-Pacific Robotics, Autonomy, AI and Cyber Conference (IPRAAC) from 7 to 9 October 2025.
The Western Australian Government said the event will bring together more than 400 attendees from industry, government, and research sectors, with over 70 speakers expected to present on emerging opportunities across mining, space, energy, agriculture, defence, and emergency services.
Science and Innovation Minister Stephen Dawson said the conference represented a significant opportunity for Western Australia to showcase its role in advanced technology and digital innovation.
“Hosting the first ever Indo-Pacific Robotics, Autonomy, AI and Cyber Conference is a major win for Western Australia,” he said.
Building on the success of the Indo-Pacific Space and Earth Conference in 2023 and 2024, IPRAAC will feature interactive sessions, workshops, and panel discussions designed to explore the global impact of robotics, autonomy, AI, and cyber technologies.
“This is an opportunity to showcase WA’s strengths in advanced technology and digital innovation across key industries like mining, defence, agriculture and space,” Dawson said.
Key international and national experts will take part, including Dr John Blitch, cognitive scientist and emergency response consultant; Wing Commander Dr S. Kate Conroy, Responsible AI Lead for the Royal Australian Air Force; Roger Hunter, Program Manager at NASA Ames Research Centre; Hirokazu Mori, CEO of Warpspace in Japan; and Dr Holly Yanco, Director of the New England Robotics Validation and Experimentation Centre in the United States.
According to the WA Government, the event aims to foster collaboration between sectors and accelerate innovation.
“The Cook Government is proud to support the growth of these future-focused sectors through strategic investment in automation, AI research and cyber capability,” Mr Dawson said.
