The Queensland Manufacturing Institute (QMI) will take part in the 2026 Western Downs Accelerate Manufacturing Conference in Dalby, highlighting collaboration and strategic partnerships in manufacturing.
According to QMI, the institute will participate in the event alongside Industry Capability Network (ICN) when the conference is held on 25 March at the Dalby Events Centre. Michael Swart, National Strategy Director at ICN and QMI, is scheduled to present insights related to the Western Downs Manufacturing – Shaping the Energy Future project.
QMI said the presentation will focus on key program insights and discuss approaches to achieving strategic outcomes in manufacturing through stronger industry partnerships.
The conference will feature panel discussions with industry leaders, presentations from sector experts and guest speakers, as well as networking opportunities for manufacturers and related industries.
One panel session titled “Chain Reaction – Unlocking New Supply Chain Opportunities” will examine ways to identify and develop supply chain opportunities within the sector. The discussion will include QMI’s Levi Jenkins and Swart from ICN.
Organisers say the event aims to bring together manufacturers, innovators and industry stakeholders to exchange insights on emerging technologies, operational performance and opportunities for collaboration within the manufacturing sector.
QMI will also host a free pre-conference networking event at the Dalby Events Centre on 24 March ahead of the main conference.
The institute said the gathering is intended to provide an opportunity for attendees to connect with industry participants before the conference program begins.
The Accelerate Manufacturing Conference, hosted by Western Downs Regional Council, is scheduled to run from 8:15am to 3:15pm on 25 March at the Dalby Events Centre.
Industry representatives and manufacturers have been invited to attend the event to discuss developments and opportunities shaping manufacturing in the Western Downs region.
