PakTech, a US-based producer of sustainable secondary packaging solutions, is officially bringing its technology and manufacturing capabilities to Australia with a new on-the-ground facility in Victoria

The new contract manufacturing facility and its proprietary partnership with Visy will enable PakTech to tap burgeoning demand and fulfil its vision: made in Australia, recycled in Australia, and repurposed again into new PakTech products in Australia.

Later this year, PakTech expects to have the capacity to manufacture 100 million recycled injection moulded packaging handles for cans, bottles, and other containers in Australia annually.

The company, which is the leading manufacturer of 100 per cent recycled and recyclable secondary packaging, has seen significant organic growth in Australia in recent years.

Its official launch in Australia is expected to enable the food, beverage, and consumer goods industries in Australia to respond to the growing ESG pressures and consumer demand for sustainable packaging and practices. It also comes as public demand for sustainable packaging and practices skyrockets.

Brandon Rogers, CEO of PakTech, said establishing a local footprint in Australia is an exciting project, not only for PakTech but also for customers and Australians who care about sustainability and their impact on the environment.

“Conscious consumerism is flourishing, and pressure from consumers around the world is forcing brands and retailers to rethink their approach to sustainable packaging. Sustainability and the circular economy is no longer a competitive differentiator, it’s an expectation,” Rogers said.

“Through our launch in Australia, we’re helping our customers meet not only their customer needs but also regulatory requirements, too. As ESG pressures and the need for transparency increases, many companies are setting internal sustainability goals to meet regulatory mandates or customer or shareholder demands. But rather than setting goals of 25% recycled content by 2025, PakTech enables businesses to use 100% recycled content today. We’re incredibly excited by this potential, and joining an Australian market.”
