Australian pool manufacturer Aquatic Leisure Technologies (ALT) has secured certifications across quality, environmental management, workplace safety and fibreglass pool manufacturing as it marks 50 years of Australian manufacturing in 2026.
The Perth-based company, which manufactures the Aqua Technics Pools brand, said it achieved certification against ISO 9001:2026 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety following independent auditing by SAI Global Certification Services under JAS-ANZ accreditation on 20 August.
ALT subsequently received StandardsMark Licence SMK41900 on 3 September for AS 1838:2021 – Swimming Pools: Premoulded fibre-reinforced plastics – Design and fabrication.
According to ALT, the certifications provide independent recognition of the management systems supporting its manufacturing operations and the standards applied to applicable fibreglass swimming pools produced by the company.
“For 50 years, we have continued to invest in how we design, manufacture and support our pools,” ALT Managing Director Lynley Papineau said.
“Quality has always been fundamental to our business, but today that extends well beyond the product itself to how we operate, how we protect our people and how we manage our environmental responsibilities.”
ALT said the certifications build on its previous product and quality credentials, having become the first fibreglass pool company to achieve product certification in 1984 and receiving ISO 9001 certification in 1991.
The company manufactures from its Western Australian base and supplies fibreglass swimming pools across Australia and international markets. Its Aqua Technics Pools brand has also expanded into the United States through a growing dealer network and manufacturing presence.
Papineau said the certifications were intended to provide customers, dealers and industry partners with independently assessed evidence of the company’s management systems.
“We have always been very proud of the quality of our products and our manufacturing capability, but it is important that we don’t simply ask people to take our word for it,” she said.
“Independent certification provides another level of credibility and transparency.”
ALT said it is currently the only Australian pool manufacturer certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and AS 1838.
