Felton Industries has launched a new range of sheltered grandstands designed to provide greater comfort, safety, and inclusivity for spectators across Australia.

The company, which designs and manufactures outdoor aluminium furniture in Australia, announced that the new Sunsafe Select and Sunsafe Comfort models are now available, offering integrated shelter, accessibility features, and customisation options for schools, sporting clubs, event venues, and community spaces.

Simon Clayton, product marketing manager at Felton Industries, said the new range represents an evolution of the company’s existing grandstand offerings.

“We’re excited to bring the new Felton sheltered grandstand range to the Australian market,” he said. “It reflects our commitment to designing practical, high-performing seating solutions that put people first. Whether you’re managing a footy oval in Victoria, a netball court in Queensland, or a community venue anywhere in between, these grandstands provide a safe, comfortable, and compliant spectator experience.”

The grandstands are available in four-metre and six-metre lengths, with seating for up to 60 people. Each model incorporates guardrails for structural safety, while the six-metre option features extended batten-style shelter supports and a ground bolt system for wind resistance.

For regions requiring higher compliance, such as coastal Queensland and parts of Western Australia, Felton has developed a Wind C-certified version.

“Inclusivity, structural integrity, and climate adaptability were central to the development of this range,” Clayton said.

“Our customers are increasingly looking for outdoor seating that both protects their communities from the elements and meets evolving safety and certification requirements. This range answers that need, with options to suit both standard and high-wind regions, plus flexible sizing and wheelchair accessibility across the board.”

A key feature of the new range is its wheelchair-accessible configuration, which provides space for wheelchair users without compromising comfort or visibility.

The grandstands are made from marine-grade aluminium, offering a weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and rust-proof solution suited to Australia’s diverse climates.

The design also removes structural poles from the seating area, maximising usable space and improving audience comfort. Wider footwells and an optional stairwell on selected models further improve access for spectators.

Felton said customers can personalise the grandstands in six colours – red, blue, green, yellow, orange, and purple – applied to the frame, guardrails, and end caps. Standard metallic silver planks are used for seating to maintain safety and durability.

The company added that the new range continues its commitment to manufacturing in Australia and delivering community-focused infrastructure.
