Brickworks products have been recognised across two projects at the 2026 Think Brick Awards, an annual Australian architecture program covering brick, block, paver and roof tile design, according to the company.
The awards included the Robin Dods Roof Tiles Award for Hanslope House and the Bruce Mackenzie Landscape Award for Edgley Street Reserve, with Brickworks products used in both projects.
Hanslope House, designed by Olaver Architecture and built by Glyde Construction, received the Robin Dods Roof Tiles Award. The project features Bristile Roofing La Escandella Planum terracotta roof tiles in Roja.
According to Brickworks, the house draws on the traditional character of its suburban surroundings, including brick façades and terracotta roofs, while applying these elements in a contemporary architectural design.
The 2026 jury said the project’s outcome was supported by the precision of its detailing, noting that “every roof detail has been carefully resolved” to integrate the terracotta roof form with the surrounding masonry.
The second award, the Bruce Mackenzie Landscape Award, was presented to Edgley Street Reserve, a local park upgraded by Jane Irwin Landscape Architecture and built by Regal Innovations.
Brickworks products used in the reserve include Austral Bricks Glazed Royal Blue, Bowral Bricks 76 Brahman Granite and Bowral Bricks 76 Chillingham White.
The company said the project was designed to improve the usability of the existing park and provide a more functional space for the surrounding young-family community. The redesign incorporated an enhanced play area, paved spaces and new seating.
Brickworks said brick was selected for its durability and its ability to complement the existing architectural character of the area.
The project also incorporated a combination of recycled and new bricks, along with blue glazed bricks intended to add colour and visual interest.
