Australian caravan manufacturer Crusader Caravans is expanding its presence in New Zealand, adding Christchurch-based CMG Campers as a South Island dealer as demand grows for its full-composite caravan range.
The move builds on Crusader’s existing partnership with Hamilton-based Auto Leisure & Marine Group (ALM Group), which has established the brand’s presence in New Zealand’s North Island.
In a news release, Crusader Caravans Founder and CEO Serge Valentino said the company had been encouraged by the response from New Zealand customers.
“We’ve been really encouraged by the response we’re seeing from Kiwi caravanners, both from people who are new to caravanning and experienced owners looking for something different,” Valentino said.
According to Crusader, its caravans are manufactured at an advanced Australian production facility using full-composite construction, which the company says provides strength, durability, insulation and lower weight compared with traditionally built caravans.
“What we hear time and time again is that there is nothing quite like a Crusader Caravan on the market,” Valentino said.
“The combination of full-composite construction, luxury interiors, innovative features and extensive standard inclusions is resonating strongly with New Zealand customers.”
The company’s 2026 model range includes a range of floor plans and customisation options. Crusader said airbag suspension is now standard across its MY26 XCountry, Excalibur, Musketeer and Gladiator CRV models, while three new Designer Series interior themes — Coastal Luxe, Forest Luxe and White Mist — have also been introduced.
“Crusader caravans are built using full-composite construction, making them stronger and lighter than traditionally built caravans,” Valentino said.
“That makes them particularly well suited to year-round Kiwi caravanning, while delivering the comfort and luxury our customers expect.”
Crusader said the expansion will also support its second brand, Dreamhaven, which is manufactured at the same Australian facility and positioned at a more accessible price point.
CMG Campers will showcase Crusader models at its Christchurch showroom, complementing ALM Group’s existing inventory in Hamilton.
Crusader describes itself as Australia’s second-largest Australian-owned caravan manufacturer and said it was recognised in 2026 as the most awarded manufacturer in the history of the Caravan Industry Victoria Hall of Fame and Industry Awards.
