DroneShield has renewed its support for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Drone Racing Team for 2026, continuing a partnership that the company says is focused on skills development and innovation in drone operations.

In a news release, the ASX-listed company said the collaboration builds on previous engagements, including activities highlighted at Avalon 2025, and extends beyond a conventional sponsorship arrangement.

DroneShield stated that its involvement has included the sharing of operational expertise and initiatives aimed at knowledge exchange, such as DroneShield pilots engaging with ADF Drone Racing Team activities to support skills development.

DroneShield chief executive Oleg Vornik said the partnership aligns with broader capability development objectives.

“The ADF Drone Racing Team continues to set the benchmark for advanced drone operations, and we’re proud to support their journey in 2026,” Vornik said.

“This collaboration is about more than racing. It’s about building the skills and technologies that will define the next generation of Defence capability.”

From the ADF Drone Racing Team’s perspective, the partnership has been positioned as a platform for experimentation and learning. Wing Commander Keirin Joyce, President of the ADF Drone Racing Team, said the collaboration brings together operational experience and industry technology.

“Our partnership with DroneShield helps drive innovation across Defence,” Joyce said. “By combining the expertise of pilots from the ADF drone racing team with cutting-edge counter-drone technology, we create a unique environment for testing, learning, and advancing Australia’s operational edge.”

DroneShield said the renewed support reflects its ongoing commitment to Defence-related initiatives that encourage technical capability and innovation.

The company also noted that the ADF Drone Racing Team is scheduled to compete in March 2026 at the Military International Drone Racing Tournament in Sydney, where it will seek to defend its world title for a sixth time.
