Epson Precision (EPTH), Epson’s production facility, has received the highest level of recognition for its business practices under the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP).
The recognition highlights the company’s ongoing dedication to corporate social responsibility throughout its global operations, Epson said in a statement released Tuesday.
Since joining the RBA in April 2019, Epson reports that it has voluntarily subjected its main manufacturing sites to comprehensive VAP assessments.
These evaluations, conducted by independent RBA-certified third-party auditors, assess how well each facility follows the RBA Code of Conduct across key areas, including worker treatment, workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices.
Multiple Epson production facilities across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, and the Philippines have now achieved this prestigious Platinum recognition.
EPTH, which was established in 1988 and specialises in manufacturing watches and quartz devices, obtained the maximum possible score of 200 in its recent VAP audit.
“Epson remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold the RBA Code of Conduct. Our goal is to forge a sustainable and enriching society, and through the RBA’s VAP, we will continue to ensure that Epson products are manufactured with the utmost regard for human rights and environmental sustainability,” said Akifumi Takei, executive officer and general administrative manager for Epson’s Product Planning Division.
