Australia’s food manufacturing sector will take centre stage later this month as foodpro 2026 brings together processing, packaging and technology suppliers in Melbourne, with organisers highlighting the event’s relevance for primary producers across the supply chain.

According to foodpro, the event will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26 to 29 July and is expected to feature more than 400 exhibitors and over 9,000 industry professionals.

The exhibition will cover food processing, packaging, cold chain, food safety and digital manufacturing, with free entry available for industry professionals.

foodpro said the event will showcase technologies designed to support post-harvest operations, including cold chain and refrigeration systems, fresh produce packaging innovations, conveyor and sorting equipment, and wash, grading and inspection systems aimed at reducing losses and maintaining product quality.

The organiser said the exhibition will also provide access to food safety testing and diagnostics suppliers, traceability technology providers and compliance specialists, reflecting increasing food safety and compliance requirements across retail, foodservice and export markets.

Foodpro said the event offers primary producers an opportunity to gain insight into the equipment, technologies and operational requirements used by processors and manufacturers, with a view to better understanding downstream expectations.

Exhibitors will represent a broad range of food and beverage manufacturing sectors, including processing equipment, packaging solutions, factory infrastructure, logistics, food science and technology, and sustainability.

Louise Brooks, Event Director for foodpro 2026, said the exhibition aims to strengthen links across the food supply chain.

“foodPro 2026 is where the food manufacturing industry comes together — and that includes the primary producers who feed it. The connections made between producers, processors and technology suppliers at this event are the ones that drive real change across the supply chain,” Brooks said.

foodpro said the 2026 exhibition is 20 per cent larger than the 2023 edition and is the only major Australian food processing and packaging trade event scheduled this year. The event operates on a triennial cycle, with the next edition planned for 2029.

foodpro 2026 will run from 26 to 29 July at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Registration is free for industry professionals, according to the organisers.
