Australia’s manufacturing sector will be in focus when industry, research and government representatives gather in Adelaide for the Additive Manufacturing Forum 2026 on 28 to 29 October.
Hosted by the Additive Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (AMCRC), the two-day forum will also mark the launch of AMCRC’s South Australian Node, an initiative focused on strengthening collaboration and supporting the adoption of additive manufacturing (AM) technologies across South Australia.
According to AMCRC, the forum will bring together delegates for expert panels, industry roundtables and networking sessions covering areas including sovereign manufacturing capability, commercialisation and opportunities for Australian manufacturers.
International additive manufacturing expert Joris Peels, Vice President Consulting at Additive Manufacturing Research and Editor of 3DPrint.com, will deliver the keynote address, Australia: The Island Advantage. His presentation will examine global industry trends and Australia’s position in the evolving additive manufacturing sector.
AMCRC Managing Director Simon Marriott said the event would provide an opportunity for different parts of the sector to discuss the development of additive manufacturing in Australia.
“Australia has the expertise, research capability and industry drive to become a global leader in additive manufacturing, but success will depend on collaboration,” Marriott said.
“The Additive Manufacturing Forum provides a unique opportunity for industry, researchers and policymakers to come together, share ideas and identify the actions needed to strengthen Australia’s manufacturing future.”
Marriott said the launch of the South Australian Node would also contribute to AMCRC’s efforts to connect participants across the national additive manufacturing ecosystem.
“The launch of our South Australian Node is an important milestone in building a nationally connected ecosystem that can accelerate innovation, adoption and industry growth,” he said.
The forum follows AMCRC’s inaugural event in Melbourne in 2025 and will be held at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide.
Registrations for the Additive Manufacturing Forum 2026 are now open.
