EcoOnline has launched its Chemical Manager software in Australia and New Zealand, positioning the platform as a response to increasing chemical safety and compliance pressures across the region, including in manufacturing and other high-risk industries.

In a news release, the company said the system provides organisations with a digital approach to managing chemical risk as regulatory requirements continue to tighten.

According to EcoOnline, Chemical Manager supports safety teams by enabling chemical risk assessments, access to Safety Data Sheets, substitution of hazardous substances, exposure monitoring and compliance reporting.

The company said chemicals remain a significant source of workplace risk across ANZ, citing official figures showing thousands of injuries in Australia linked to hazardous chemicals and hundreds of work-related illness deaths each year in New Zealand, largely associated with exposure to hazardous substances.

EcoOnline pointed to new workplace exposure limits, tighter controls in aged care facilities and PFAS bans in Australia, alongside expanded hazardous substances reporting requirements and further PFAS restrictions in New Zealand scheduled to take effect in 2026.

The company said these changes are raising compliance expectations for organisations across sectors such as construction, manufacturing, mining, utilities and healthcare.

EcoOnline said Chemical Manager has already been adopted by thousands of organisations globally.

“Bringing our proven Chemical Manager solution to Australia and New Zealand reinforces our commitment to the region and marks a major milestone in EcoOnline’s vision to deliver a global, dynamic approach to chemical safety,” said Kris McKenzie, Chief Revenue Officer at EcoOnline.

He added that the software aims to support “enhanced compliance, visibility, and predictability across core operational risks”.

Industry partners welcomed the local launch, highlighting potential benefits for customers navigating regulatory change.

Gary Patrick, Director of EcoOnline partner QSM Group, said the release was “a significant step forward for the EHS market,” adding that customers see the solution as a way to manage chemicals and Safety Data Sheets more efficiently while staying aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.

EcoOnline platinum partner John Watts, owner of Many Caps Consulting, also said early customer discussions had been positive, describing Chemical Manager as a tool designed to address practical business and safety challenges.
