According to the media release by the Premier of Victoria, the joint venture between the companies, called Safetech Tiemans Solutions (STS), will create 20 new jobs in Moe and significantly boost the local manufacturing sector.

Victorian Premier Denis Napthine said the Coalition Government will provide $150,000 towards the $560,000 initiative, which will reinvigorate the local economy.

“These innovative products will be designed locally, built locally and sold to both domestic and international markets,” Mr Napthine said.

“STS is a great example of how the Victorian manufacturing sector is evolving to deliver specialised equipment that will be utilised by a range of industries.”

The Victorian Coalition Government’s support for the joint venture will enable STS to purchase welding and materials handling equipment. It will also facilitate an electrical fit out, upgraded IT and telecommunications infrastructure and an office fit out.

According to Member for Narracan Gary Blackwood, the STS initiative was just another in the line of examples of how the Coalition Government’s $15 million Latrobe Valley Industry and Infrastructure Fund was safeguarding the well-being and prosperity of the local community.

“This important fund is delivering jobs and creating economic diversity in Moe and right across the Latrobe Valley,” Mr Blackwood said.

“I’m pleased to have been able to work with STS to utilise the fund and deliver these positive outcomes for the local community. The Latrobe Valley Industry and Infrastructure Fund have now supported 23 projects across the Latrobe City, Baw Baw and Wellington shires creating more than 360 new jobs for the region.”
