Melbourne has welcomed a new regional headquarters and Digital and AI Engineering Hub from global technology services company ITC Infotech, supported by CSIRO, the national science agency.
The facility, serving as ITC Infotech’s base across the Asia Pacific, is expected to create 150 high-skilled technology positions in Victoria over the next three years.Â
In a news release, the company will provide professional technology services to businesses across the region, focusing on digital engineering, data solutions, and AI-led services.
In addition, ITC Infotech is establishing an AI agricultural technology hub at the Melbourne site. The initiative will involve collaboration with local universities to apply advanced research and innovation in agriculture.
CSIRO noted that the opening reinforces Victoria’s role as a hub for innovation and advanced technology. The state has attracted a number of leading Indian technology firms in recent years, including Firstsource, Sonata Software, Fractal, and UST.
Victoria’s recently launched AI Mission Statement outlines the state’s approach to responsible AI development, aiming to drive innovation for the benefit of residents while supporting growth in digital technologies.
