Nominations are now open for the 2025 NSW Export Awards, an annual event that recognises the achievements of New South Wales exporters and celebrates the innovation, resilience and global impact of locally made products and services.

Delivered by the Export Council of Australia in partnership with the NSW Government, the awards acknowledge businesses across 14 national categories and four exclusive NSW categories.

The program highlights the critical role exports play in driving the state’s economic performance and trade presence worldwide.

Rebecca McPhee, deputy secretary at Investment NSW, said the awards provide a unique opportunity to recognise the positive contribution of exporters across the state.

“Exporters are a critical driver of economic growth in NSW, with $142.5 billion worth of goods and services sold abroad in 2023-24, making up 17 per cent of our Gross State Product,” McPhee said.

“While it’s a challenging global environment, NSW’s exporters are resilient. We continue to work hard to make sure NSW business has access to a broad range of export markets and opportunities.”

The theme for this year’s awards, Broaden Your Trade Horizons, underlines the importance of diversification in sustaining long-term trade and investment growth for NSW and Australia.

It aligns with the NSW Government’s ongoing development of a Trade and Investment Strategy, which will focus on expanding exports, attracting investment, and supporting local businesses to succeed in new international markets.

Dianne Tipping, Chair of the Export Council of Australia, encouraged businesses to take part and share their export journey.

“Exporting is not just about selling products overseas; it’s about building relationships, fostering innovation, and contributing to the broader economy,” Tipping said.

“The theme for this year, Broaden Your Trade Horizons, is a timely reminder of the importance of diversification and adaptability in the ever-changing global trade landscape.”

Last year’s winner in the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages national category, Twisted Healthy Treats, is a prime example of NSW’s export excellence.

The Ingleburn-based manufacturer of frozen yoghurts and ice creams has expanded its reach to supermarkets across Australia and markets in the United States, China, the UAE, and Malaysia.

“It was a huge honour to be recognised at the NSW Export Awards last year,” said Cass Spies, CEO of Twisted Healthy Treats. “It’s an incredible platform to highlight all the businesses that are demonstrating the value of exporting across numerous industries.”

Spies added that exporting has played a transformative role in the company’s growth.

“There’s no doubt that exporting has transformed our business, and we’re incredibly proud to be showcasing our 100% Aussie dairy products to consumers all over the world,” she said.

Nominations opened today and will close on Friday, 13 June 2025. Finalists are expected to be announced in September, with the awards ceremony taking place in October.

Winners of the national categories will automatically progress as finalists in the Australian Export Awards, scheduled for November.
