Australia has launched the AI Sprint initiative aimed at assisting startups and entrepreneurs in rapidly developing AI solutions to tackle urgent national issues such as cost of living, governance, supply chain resilience, human and environmental well-being, and workforce transformation.

Not-for-profit industry organisations can now apply for grants to provide expert, sector-specific guidance to participating startups and scaleups as part of the Australian Government’s $392.4 million Industry Growth Program.

Early-stage startups and small to medium enterprises in New South Wales can now apply for grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 to accelerate the commercialisation of their products or processes. 

Speakers at the National Innovation Policy Forum have expressed their support for the Australian government’s $392 million Industry Growth Program, officially launched on Monday, 27 November. 

The Western Australian government has awarded more than $4.3 million in funding to nine health and medical startup companies as part of the 2022-23 Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund.
