Australia’s premier 4WD aluminium tray and canopy manufacturer Norweld has introduced its groundbreaking Elite tray, culminating a $750,000 investment in research and development.

Representing the company’s first tray release in three years, the Elite tray underscores Norweld’s dedication to delivering robust and enduring products tailored for Australia’s challenging conditions, the company said in a media release.

According to Norweld, the launch of the Elite tray follows the firm’s most successful year to date, during which the company expanded to meet increasing demand.

In 2023, Norweld inaugurated two purpose-built facilities spanning 2,367sqm in Brisbane’s north and 2,573 sqm in Perth, recruited over 35 staff, and achieved a remarkable 20 per cent year-on-year company growth.

Norweld Director Jaime McIntosh expressed pride in the Elite tray, emphasising that it embodies the pinnacle of Australian design, material quality, and cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities.

He acknowledged the support of Norweld’s dedicated customer community and highlighted the Elite tray’s sleek, modern design, crafted to excel in any environment while offering practical functionality essential for ute owners.

“We’re proud to have the support of a passionate community of Norweld customers that share our love for exploring Australia’s tough terrain in their 4WD,” McIntosh noted.

Developed by Norweld’s in-house team of design and engineering experts, backed by over 50 years of aluminium fabrication and manufacturing expertise, the Elite tray is poised to propel the business into the next phase of growth.

McIntosh underscored the strong demand for trays and canopies, especially with dual cab utility vehicles dominating the Australian market in 2023.

“The top three best selling cars in Australia for 2023 were dual cab utility vehicles, so we strongly believe that demand for trays and canopies will continue,” McIntosh said.

Exclusive features of Norweld’s Elite tray include a lower profile ‘bolt on’ side profile design, colour-coded to match each vehicle, an adjusted headboard height to accommodate popular roof racks and accessories, a complex headboard extrusion for improved aerodynamics, and integrated Anderson plug mounts and tie-down points.

The tray also boasts a 40L water tank for standard dual cabs and a 58L tank for extended vehicles, along with unique design elements such as Norweld exclusive taillights and constant torque hinges on toolboxes.

The Elite tray is now available for order, and interested customers can view display vehicles at Norweld’s seven locations across Australia.
