A new round of almost $80 million in manufacturing grants is open to eligible Queensland businesses, with $12.5 million available to help small and medium-sized manufacturers invest in innovation and advanced manufacturing.
In a news release, the Queensland Government said the second round of its $79.1 million Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grant Program would provide matched funding of up to $1.5 million per business. At least half of the funding has been allocated to manufacturers in regional Queensland.
The three-year program has already attracted 119 applications in its first round, with 18 manufacturers receiving funding. The government said 11 of those recipients were based in regional Queensland.
Manufacturing Minister Dale Last said the program was intended to support manufacturers to adopt new technologies and remain competitive.
“The Crisafulli Government is backing regional manufacturers to grow, innovate and create more jobs in the communities they call home,” Last said.
The government said projects supported through the first round are expected to create more than 300 jobs and upskill more than 550 existing workers.
Allweld Manufacturing General Manager Josh Linwood said Queensland Manufacturing Month provided an opportunity to highlight the role of regional manufacturers.
“Queensland’s regional manufacturers have enormous potential, and it is encouraging to have a government that recognises the value of the sector and is backing businesses to grow, innovate and create more local jobs,” Linwood said.
The Queensland Government said Queensland Manufacturing Month events are being held across the state during September, including networking activities hosted by Manufacturing Hubs and events focused on women in manufacturing.
Applications for the second round of funding close on 25 November 2026.
