Australian packaging technology company Phantm has partnered with MECCA to use artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming how packaging data is collected, analysed and reported across the beauty retailer’s operations.
Through Phantm’s AI-enabled packaging intelligence platform, MECCA aims to build one of the cosmetics industry’s most comprehensive packaging data assets – helping reduce costs, waste and emissions while improving packaging performance and reporting accuracy, Phantm said in a news release.
“Reliable packaging data is fast becoming a competitive advantage,” said Elliot Costello, Co-Founder and CEO of Phantm.
“For MECCA, this means faster insights, lower costs and stronger foundations for future reporting and sustainability performance.”
Ricardo Pinto, Sustainability Manager at MECCA, said the technology will help streamline processes and accelerate innovation.
“Phantm is helping us build a structured packaging data asset that not only reduces complexity in an uncertain regulatory landscape but also accelerates packaging innovation across our portfolio,” Pinto said.
Costello added that AI is reshaping how manufacturers and retailers approach sustainability and efficiency.
“With AI, businesses can cut waste and costs at the same time. Whether you’re a manufacturer, retailer or brand owner, the ability to see your full packaging picture is now a business advantage,” he said.
Phantm’s technology has already supported major FMCG and beauty brands in improving packaging visibility, design efficiency, and sustainability outcomes.
