According to the news release by Alcoa, the new 16-ounce aluminium bottle is based on the company’s patented bottle technology and features Alcoa’s aluminium bottle sheet, providing consumers with a slick and innovative design that adds a colder feel to the drink.

The Alcoa technology licensed by Anheuser-Busch for the Bud Light “Cool Twist” bottle is built on years of expertise in creating innovative packaging. Alcoa provided product support to the Anheuser-Busch Innovations team, from package design through the launch of the new bottle.

“Using our innovation, technology and full product support, Alcoa consistently partners with customers to help them bring differentiated products to the market,” said Andrey Donets, President of Alcoa Global Packaging.

“We partnered with Alcoa to leverage their insights and skill to develop a package that combined both form and function, and we achieved that with the ‘Cool Twist’ bottle,” said Pat McGauley, vice president, Innovations, Anheuser-Busch.

“Not only does the ‘Cool Twist’ bottle have a sleek, innovative design, but it feels colder.”

Alcoa’s Global Packaging Group offers a range of unique and innovative proprietary packaging technologies, enabling beer and beverage companies to present their brands in new and unique ways. These innovations enhance brands’ existing capabilities and result in cost-effective and efficient manufacturing solutions that are fully compatible with existing production lines.

“Alcoa’s proven history of packaging innovation spans from the introduction of the first pop-top tab on an aluminium can to this unique new aluminium bottle for Bud Light,” said Dr Raymond Kilmer, Alcoa Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.

“Collaborating with Anheuser Busch to create and deliver a cool, recyclable bottle that generates excitement for their consumers is what Alcoa innovation is all about.”
