DGL Group, an Australian chemicals and hazardous waste company, has expanded its manufacturing capabilities with its latest acquisition of Flexichem Australia.
Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Flexichem specialises in complex silicone-based manufacturing for water treatment, as well as industrial and specialty product applications for both local and offshore customers.
The latest purchase, which amounts to $6.2 million, provides DGL with a strategic chemical manufacturing base in Adelaide and a strong technical base in chemical development. The transaction enables DGL to tap into an additional 1,200 tonnes of additional chemical manufacturing capacity.
As part of the deal, Flexichem will be integrated into DGL’s manufacturing operations and boost service delivery to DGL’s extensive customer base.
“The acquisition of Flexichem expands our manufacturing capabilities into South Australia, adds talent and IP on silicone-based manufacturing into DGL, and also opens up new export markets,” said Simon Henry, founder and CEO of DGL.
