Eilbeck Shredders has completed an Australian-made industrial shredding plant for export to the United States, with the project highlighting the company’s expansion into manufacturing sophisticated recycling equipment for global markets.
According to Eilbeck Shredders, the turnkey plant comprises three 7272 Primary Shredders and three 6060 Raspers, which were designed and manufactured over nine months at the company’s Ingleburn, NSW, facility.
The equipment is bound for a customer in North Carolina, where it will be used in material recovery and recycling operations. The completed plant was also demonstrated to prospective customers and industry guests at the Ingleburn facility before being prepared for export.
Eilbeck Shredders said the project is the first shredder manufacturing project completed in Australia through its partnership with North American company Eidal Shredders.
Charlie Eilbeck, head of Eilbeck Shredders, said completing the project marked an important step in bringing the company’s Australian manufacturing capabilities to international markets.
“Nine months ago, this was a project on paper. To now have completed a full range of Australian-made shredders ready to ship to the United States is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved,” Mr Eilbeck said.
“We’ve combined proven Eidal technology with the engineering, fabrication, machining and manufacturing capability we have here in Ingleburn.”
The 7272 is a high-torque, slow-speed, dual-shaft primary shredder designed to process materials including scrap metal, municipal and industrial waste, e-waste, batteries, tyres, rubber and timber. The 6060 single-shaft Rasper is designed for material liberation and particle size control.
Eilbeck said the project was aimed at building local capability in the production of recycling equipment.
“This is about more than building one machine. We’re developing the capability, supply chains and confidence to manufacture sophisticated recycling equipment here in Australia and compete in global markets.”
The milestone was marked by a visit to the Ingleburn facility by NSW Minister for Industry and Trade Anoulack Chanthivong and Independent Federal Member for Fowler Dai Le.
Eilbeck Shredders is part of the Eilbeck Cranes and Eilbeck Heavy Engineering group, which has operations across Australia. The company said the export demonstrates how Australian manufacturers can combine international technology partnerships with local engineering and manufacturing capabilities to produce finished machinery for overseas markets.
