Queensland manufacturing businesses have been recognised for their international success at the 2026 Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards, with medical device manufacturer Cook Medical named Queensland Exporter of the Year and Helitak Fire Fighting Equipment winning the Manufacturing and Advanced Materials category.

In a new release, the Queensland Government said the awards recognise businesses exporting products and services across industries including manufacturing, technology, food and professional services.

Based in Eight Mile Plains, Cook Medical received both the Queensland Exporter of the Year and International Health awards. The manufacturer exports around 96 per cent of its products, supplying Queensland-made medical devices to international markets.

Sunshine Coast-based Helitak Fire Fighting Equipment won the Manufacturing and Advanced Materials award for its specialist equipment, including tanks designed to convert helicopters into firefighting aircraft.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said the winners demonstrated how Queensland businesses could compete in international markets while supporting local employment and business growth.

“Whether it’s a medical device made in Brisbane, a firefighting tank from the Sunshine Coast or beef from Central Queensland, these businesses are giving customers around the world a reason to choose Queensland,” Bates said.

Other winners included Sunshine Coast powerline construction technology company Infravision, which received the Sustainability and Green Economy award, and Central Queensland producer KING RIVER, named Regional Exporter of the Year.

The Queensland Government said the awards form part of its efforts to expand international trade opportunities for local businesses.

Winners of the 13 national categories will represent Queensland at the Australian Export Awards in Canberra in November.
