Wet processing equipment provider CDE and New South Wales-based sand and concrete producer PF Formation are set to host an industry open day at a sand washing facility in Maroota later this month, inviting professionals to view the operation several years after its commissioning.
According to CDE, the event will take place on Thursday 30 April and will feature guided site tours led by company experts, offering attendees insight into how the plant operates and how it is being used to process natural resources.
The companies said the open day is intended to provide a closer look at the plant’s performance and its role in supporting construction demand.
The facility, which was originally commissioned to help meet demand from the Sydney construction market, has a capacity of 400 tonnes per hour and has been described by CDE as a high-efficiency sand processing operation in the region.
CDE reported that over the past 12 months, the plant produced more than 420,000 tonnes of construction sand, averaging more than 1,700 tonnes per day. It also recorded a peak daily output of nearly 3,500 tonnes in January this year.
CDE said the plant incorporates several of its technologies, including screening systems, classification units, water management solutions and its SmartTech platform, which provides real-time monitoring and data insights to support operational performance.
Luke Graham, managing director of PF Formation, said the facility has contributed to the company’s recent performance.
“Thanks to CDE and its continued support, our business has performed really strong over the past 12 months,” Graham said. “We’re producing consistent and reliable products which our customers keep coming back for.”
He added that this consistency has supported business growth and diversification. “This consistency has enabled us to grow that customer base to include large PLC clients and helped us expand our product range to include specialised sports sands,” Graham said.
“Sand washing wasn’t new to us when we commissioned our CDE plant, but it absolutely took our business to a whole new level, which we’re proud to showcase at the upcoming open day.”
CDE stated that the event will provide an opportunity for industry participants to assess the plant’s performance and understand its operational approach through direct observation and engagement with technical specialists.
