Australian manufacturing automation company Robotic Automation has become part of Australian-owned engineering and manufacturing group Varley Group, in a move the companies say will support further investment and growth in automation and robotics.
According to Robotic Automation, the acquisition brings the automation specialist, which was established in 1988, under the ownership of Varley Group, an engineering and manufacturing company founded in 1886.
Robotic Automation said the new ownership structure is expected to provide increased investment in automation, robotics and emerging technologies, along with expanded engineering resources, project delivery capacity and national service coverage.
The company said the acquisition would also support long-term business stability and succession planning, while maintaining its existing customer relationships and focus on automation solutions aimed at improving productivity, safety and competitiveness.
Robotic Automation said its employees and local engineering capabilities would remain a focus under the new ownership, with the company highlighting continued support for Australian manufacturing and local jobs.
The company also positioned the acquisition within a broader trend of Australian engineering and manufacturing businesses being acquired by overseas interests, describing the partnership between the two Australian-owned companies as a commitment to local industry and sovereign capability.
Robotic Automation said the combination of its automation expertise with Varley Group’s engineering and manufacturing history would provide a platform for future growth and innovation.
Financial terms of the acquisition and details of any changes to Robotic Automation’s operations or workforce were not disclosed in the media release.
