Enterprises across New South Wales (NSW) are invited to nominate for the 2024 Premier’s NSW Export Awards, shining a spotlight on businesses thriving in international markets.

Katie Knight, deputy secretary of Investment NSW, highlighted the upward trajectory of NSW exports, which have significantly bolstered the state’s economy, contributing a substantial $150 billion and supporting one in every five Australian jobs through trade.

“Businesses which export are a major driver of economic growth, and these awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of these businesses in strengthening NSW’s position as Australia’s most globally connected economy,” remarked Ms. Knight.

Dianne Tipping, chair of the Export Council of Australia, said the 2024 Awards will laud outstanding businesses across 13 national categories and five NSW categories.

She stated, “NSW exporters are trailblazers in innovation, expanding their reach to new and dynamic markets—from food and beverages to clean technology.”

“These prestigious awards serve as a platform to celebrate global success and motivate others to embrace international growth,” Tipping noted.

Among the distinguished honorees from last year’s awards was SunRice Group, a prominent global food enterprise with substantial manufacturing operations in NSW’s Riverina region.

CEO Paul Serra emphasised SunRice’s extensive global footprint, supplying products to over 50 countries and actively pursuing growth avenues in international markets.

“SunRice is a great Australian success story – from a single rice mill built in the Riverina over 70 years ago, we now have operations in ten countries and supply our diverse and nutritious food products globally,” expressed Serra.

Nominations for the Premier’s NSW Export Awards are open until Friday, 14 June 2024. Finalists will be unveiled in September leading up to the awards ceremony on Friday, 11 October 2024.

This year’s program will celebrate NSW’s vibrant export partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Winners of the 13 national categories from NSW will automatically advance as finalists to the Australian Export Awards.
