Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Madeleine King will promote Australia as a reliable supplier of critical minerals needed to support global efforts to reach net zero at the upcoming International Energy Agency (IEA) Critical Minerals and Clean Energy Summit in Paris. 

Resources and mining ministers across federal, state, and territory governments across Australia are set to collaborate to support the development of Australia’s critical minerals sector. 

Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Madeleine King met with key industry and community organisations to explore how to best promote Australia's critical minerals sector and maximise benefits across the country.

Mike Ferraro, chief executive officer and managing director of Alumina and incoming president of the Australian Aluminium Council, is urging the federal government to include bauxite (aluminium ore), alumina, and aluminium to the list of critical minerals.
