The University of Sydney is investing $7.4 million to establish the Future Qubit Foundry at the Sydney Nanoscience Hub, cementing Sydney’s position at the forefront of quantum collaborations with industry and government. 

The Victoria State Government’s status as a worldwide player in the quantum technologies sector continues to grow with the Andrews Labor Government’s $8 million investment in Quantum Brilliance through the state’s investment arm Breakthrough Victoria.

Quantum Brilliance, the leading developer of room-temperature miniaturised quantum computing products and solutions, today announced an $18 million USD fundraise. Investors include Breakthrough Victoria, Main Sequence, Investible, Ultratech Capital Partners, MA Growth Ventures, Jelix Ventures, Rampersand and CM Equity Partners. 

A team led by Professor Andrea Morello at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney has just exhibited the operation of a new type of quantum bit called a 'flip-flop' qubit, which combines the quantum properties of single atoms with easy controllability using electric signals similar to those used in standard computer chips.

The New South Wales government has unveiled its $7 million Quantum Computing Commercialisation Fund (QCCF), which would help startups and deep-tech companies get their innovations off the ground.
