Titomic Limited has announced the signing of a teaming agreement with REPKON USA, replacing a previously agreed joint venture arrangement in Turkey and establishing a new framework in the United States.

The agreement aims to integrate Titomic’s Kinetic Fusion cold spray additive manufacturing technology into REPKON USA’s expanding defence and aerospace product lines.

Titomic said the partnership will focus on joint research, development, and testing of kinetic fusion cold spray applications in cannon barrels, gun barrels, and warheads, with the potential for broader use in support of the US Government.

The Australian-based company noted that its Kinetic Fusion technology offers benefits such as faster restoration, enhanced performance, and improved resilience of critical defence assets.

“Our partnership with REPKON USA represents more than collaboration—it represents a shared commitment to fundamentally transform how we advance and sustain defence manufacturing and is a more effective way to combine our leading respective technologies than the previously announced joint venture,” said Jim Simpson, CEO of Titomic.

“With Titomic Kinetic Fusion™, we bring a technology that restores, enhances, and builds critical assets faster, smarter, and with greater resilience.”

Dr Patricia Dare, president of Titomic USA, Inc, also welcomed the collaboration, highlighting the immediate focus on research and development activities at Titomic’s facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

“We are focused on delivering field-ready solutions that ensure mission readiness, extend asset life, and strengthen the U.S. allied industrial base with next-generation manufacturing capability,” Dare said.

Titomic stated that the teaming agreement will also explore the use of its cold spray technology for field asset repair, allowing for equipment restoration to its original specifications in significantly shorter timeframes.

The technology is expected to enable repairs within battlefield or training environments, improving operational readiness.

Additionally, Titomic and REPKON USA plan to work together on applying coatings to REPKON USA’s barrels to enhance performance and deliver a competitive edge in the defence market.

Bryan Van Brunt, President of REPKON USA Holdings, Inc., expressed confidence in the partnership, describing Titomic’s technology as a critical advancement.

“As we push for advanced solutions to modernise and improve defence production, the Titomic Kinetic Fusion™ cold spray technology is at the top of our list. Its advantages in our defence and aerospace applications in particular, are game changers,” Van Brunt said.
