The Western Australian Government has opened applications for a $153.3 million loan program to support eligible manufacturers investing in energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage, electrification and advanced manufacturing projects.

According to the WA Government, the Made in WA Energy Affordability Investment Program (MEAIP) offers low-interest loans ranging from $300,000 to $15 million to manufacturers in eligible target sectors, with the aim of strengthening energy cost competitiveness.

Administered by the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification, the program will be delivered through two funding streams.

Stream 1 will support projects focused on improving energy efficiency or energy cost competitiveness, while Stream 2 will support integrated projects combining eligible energy efficiency investments with advanced manufacturing technologies.

Under Stream 2, projects must deliver an energy cost competitiveness benefit alongside improvements in manufacturing capability, capacity or productivity.

Applications for the program close at 5pm AWST on 23 February 2027.

Manufacturers can find eligibility requirements and application details through the WA Government’s MEAIP webpage.
