AML3D Limited has expanded its presence in Europe’s manufacturing sector with the appointment of Germany-based DMFG Solutions GmbH as a non-exclusive distribution partner for a two-year term.
The agreement adds to the company’s existing European network and follows the July appointment of UK-based Arc Additive Limited, AML3D said in an ASX announcement.
The Adelaide-based metal 3D printing specialist said the move aligns with its strategic plan to grow in European manufacturing and defence markets.
AML3D has identified demand patterns in the region similar to those that supported its entry into the US, where the company reports strong growth.
Chief executive Sean Ebert said the new partnership strengthens AML3D’s foundations in the region. “The appointment of DMFG as a European distributor, so soon after signing the Arc Additive distribution deal that covered the UK and Europe, builds strong foundations for growth,” Ebert said.
“Although the demand profile in Europe is at an earlier stage than the current demand profile in the US, where we are enjoying exceptional growth, it is moving along the same trajectory.”
Ebert added that the company’s AUD 5 million investment to establish a European technology centre underlines its commitment to the market.
“We are already working on a defence contract in the UK and the signals we are getting from key markets give me increased confidence in AML3D’s potential to convert strong European demand into significant contract wins,” he said.
DMFG Solutions, a provider of additive manufacturing technologies for metal components using arc welding, said the collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of large-scale manufacturing technologies across Europe.
“The potential of large-scale additive manufacturing technologies, particularly within the European defence and manufacturing sectors, remains largely untapped,” said DMFG chief executive Tobias Krümberg.
“We are seeing steadily increasing demand for flexible, on-shore manufacturing capacity. DMFG is proud to partner with AML3D to accelerate the commercial deployment of WAAM technology across key European industrial markets.”
