Aurora Labs has expanded its manufacturing capability with the arrival of two new advanced machining assets, according to a LinkedIn announcement from the company.

The ASX-listed company said the installation of a DMG MORI NLX 2500 CNC lathe and a DMU 50 CNC five-axis machining centre is expected to strengthen the company’s end-to-end manufacturing offering across aerospace, defence and high-performance industrial sectors.

Aurora Labs stated the addition of the machines is set to enhance its precision machining and post-processing capacity, supporting its engine manufacturing, metal additive and hybrid production workflows.

The company noted that the new equipment will allow it to produce complex parts with higher accuracy and efficiency, increase production throughput for defence and commercial programs, and improve rapid prototyping and production for customers.

The company attributed the milestone to 50 per cent funding support from the Defence Industry Development Grant Program (DID-G).

In its announcement, Aurora Labs said the program’s focus on building industrial capability in defence is helping Australian advanced manufacturing scale innovation, deliver higher-value production and accelerate growth.

Aurora Labs thanked DID-G for its support and said it intends to use the upgraded manufacturing capability to benefit its partners, customers and Australia’s industrial future.
